The False Prophet

An Epistle on the Identity of the False Prophet: The Final Jewish High Priest
Beloved of the Lord,
Grace, wisdom, and discernment be multiplied unto you as we approach the consummation of the age and the unveiling of the great mysteries spoken by the prophets. I write to you concerning the identity of the second beast in Revelation 13—commonly called the False Prophet—who performs great signs, deceives the earth, and causes the image of the Beast to be worshipped. With clarity granted by the Holy Spirit and in the light of the testimony of Scripture, I set forth that the False Prophet is none other than the final Jewish High Priest, a man of Aaronic descent, who serves not the Lord but the Dragon.
The Lamb from the Earth: A Jewish Impostor
Revelation 13:11 declares:
"Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon."
This second beast is distinct from the first beast who rises from the sea—a symbol consistently used to represent the Gentile nations (cf. Daniel 7:2-3):
“Daniel declared, ‘I saw in my vision by night, and behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea. And four great beasts came up out of the sea, different from one another.’” (Daniel 7:2–3)
Thus the first beast is Gentile in origin, rising from among the nations. But the second beast rises from the earth—more precisely, the land, a word that often refers to the land of Israel. The two horns like a lamb point to a priestly or religious appearance—imitating Christ, the true Lamb of God—yet his speech betrays him, for he speaks as a dragon. This reveals him as a deceiver—one who wears the garments of righteousness but serves Satan.
Mystery Babylon and the Beast: The Composite System
In Revelation 17, we see a striking prophetic image:
"And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns." (Revelation 17:3)
The woman is “Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots,” and the beast is the same as in Revelation 13—the final Gentile world empire. Yet the woman rides the beast, signifying control, influence, and spiritual fornication. Later in the chapter we are told:
“And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:18)
That city is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified (Revelation 11:8)—Jerusalem. This reveals that apostate Jerusalem, ruled by her false High Priest, becomes the religious engine of the Beast system.
The False Prophet's Access to the Temple
Revelation 13:14–15 explains the central role of the False Prophet:
"And by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain."
This act of setting up the image corresponds to the Abomination of Desolation. As Jesus warned:
"So when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand)..." (Matthew 24:15)
Only one with priestly authority could access the temple's sacred precincts, especially the inner court and holy of holies. This implies that the one who sets up the image—the False Prophet—must hold high religious office, and within the Jewish temple system that means he must be the High Priest.
Apostasy Like Aaron, Fulfilment of the Song of Moses
The parallels to Aaron are striking. When Moses ascended Mount Sinai, Aaron led the people into idolatry:
"So all the people took off the rings of gold that were in their ears and brought them to Aaron. And he received the gold from their hand and fashioned it with a graving tool and made a golden calf. And they said, ‘These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt!’" (Exodus 32:3–4)
In similar fashion, the False Prophet will lead Israel to worship the Beast and his image, turning the priesthood into a vehicle for idolatry. This fulfills the prophecy of the Song of Moses:
“They sacrificed to demons that were no gods, to gods they had never known, to new gods that had come recently, whom your fathers had never dreaded.” (Deuteronomy 32:17)
Like Caiaphas and Annas: Murderers of the Messiah
This betrayal echoes that of Caiaphas and Annas, the high priests who orchestrated the crucifixion of Jesus. As written:
"It is better for you that one man should die for the people, not that the whole nation should perish." (John 11:50)
Though Caiaphas prophesied truly, he did so in ignorance, fulfilling God’s plan through rebellion. Likewise, the final High Priest will speak falsely and lead Israel into covenant with death.
The Crooked Shepherds of Zechariah
Zechariah speaks of wicked leaders in Israel:
“Woe to the worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock! May the sword strike his arm and his right eye! Let his arm be wholly withered, his right eye utterly blinded!” (Zechariah 11:17)
This judgment falls upon the False Prophet, the final corrupt shepherd who serves the Beast.
Jerusalem the Harlot and the Death of the Two Witnesses
In Revelation 11:7–8, the two witnesses are killed in Jerusalem:
“And when they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the bottomless pit will make war on them and conquer them and kill them, and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city that symbolically is called Sodom and Egypt, where their Lord was crucified.”
Jerusalem, under the False Prophet’s leadership, becomes the epicenter of rebellion and harlotry.
The Temple and the Covenant with Many
Revelation 11:1–2 describes the division of the Temple Mount:
“Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, ‘Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and those who worship there, but do not measure the court outside the temple; leave that out, for it is given over to the nations, and they will trample the holy city for forty-two months.’”
This division mirrors a diplomatic solution: the Dome of the Rock (on the outer court) remains in Muslim hands, while the Jewish priesthood reestablishes sacrifices in a newly built temple—perhaps enabled by the Antichrist’s covenant with many:
“And he shall make a strong covenant with many for one week, and for half of the week he shall put an end to sacrifice and offering.” (Daniel 9:27)
This covenant brings false peace. The priesthood and temple, long dormant, will be seen as a symbol of Jewish-Muslim reconciliation. But it will be a deception—Israel will once again trust in Egypt and make a covenant with death:
“Because you have said, ‘We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have an agreement...’ Therefore thus says the Lord God, ‘Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion...’” (Isaiah 28:15–16)
Conclusion: The Final High Priest is the False Prophet
Let the reader understand: the False Prophet is the final Jewish High Priest. He rises not from Rome, nor from Islam, but from within the ranks of apostate Judaism. He is the man of Aaronic descent who embraces the Beast, leads Israel into idolatry, sets up the abomination in the temple, and seals their doom—just as Aaron did, just as Caiaphas did, and just as the Song of Moses foretold.
He appears like a lamb, but speaks like a dragon. He wears priestly robes, but serves Satan. He holds the censer of incense, but offers strange fire.
Therefore:
“Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
Be not deceived by signs and wonders, for lying miracles will abound. Test the spirits. Know the Word. Love not your lives unto death.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
In faithful service,
A Watchman in the Final Hour
