The Maskilim: emergence of the wise

The Maskilim: emergence of the wise

An Epistle on the Wise Who Shall Understand
To those with ears to hear in these last days

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Messiah—who is the Faithful Witness, the Firstborn from the dead, and the One who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals.

I write to you concerning the emergence of the maskilim—the wise ones foretold by the prophet Daniel—those who would rise in the time of the end with understanding granted from above, while the world staggers in confusion and darkness.

The Time of the End and the Opening of Understanding

Daniel was told that the words of the prophecy were sealed up until the time of the end (Daniel 12:4, 9). For generations, the faithful searched the Scriptures, but much remained hidden. The scroll remained closed. The seals remained unbroken. But now the Lamb, standing as if slain, has begun to open the seals (Revelation 6)—and what was once veiled is being unveiled. The mystery is no longer confined to heaven; it is breaking into history, and only the wise perceive it.

As it is written:

“Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.”
(Daniel 12:10)

These maskilim are those who dwell not in brilliance of intellect, but in purity of heart. Their wisdom is not of this world, but born of the fear of the Lord and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. They are like the sons of Issachar, who discern the times and know what God’s people ought to do. This comes from the spiritual gifts of discernment and prophecy--which allows for understanding mysteries but ought to be bound with love so that it yields righteousness.

The Unsealing of the Scroll: A Revelation of Season

For centuries, the season of the Lord’s return was hidden. Even the prophets longed to understand the fullness of what they wrote. It was not possible at all to determine when in time the Lord would return. But then, in 1948, something long dead stirred again. The fig tree, Israel, put forth its leaves—just as Jesus prophesied on the Mount of Olives:

“When you see the fig tree blossom... know that summer is near.” (Matthew 24:32)

That summer is now far advanced. The generation that saw the rebirth of Israel approaches its conclusion, and the fall harvest, the end of the age, draws near. The seals have been opening one by one, yet most see only history, not divine sequence. But the wise see.

  • They see that Seal 1 (the white horse) brought forth the post-WWII order and the rebirth of Israel under a global mandate.
  • They recognize that Seal 2 unleashed the age of endless war—beginning with 9/11 and rippling forward.
  • They discern that Seal 3 activated global economic control systems through crisis and famine.
  • They tremble, knowing that Seal 4—the pale horse—is riding now, bringing death through plague, collapse, and engineered chaos.

And now, in the shadow of Seal 5, where persecution begins, and just before Seal 6, the sign of the Son of Man will flash across the heavens, and the rapture will gather those who are ready.

This season is no longer unknowable—because the scroll is now being unsealed. The time is discernible, though not the exact day or hour. The maskilim know this not by calculation alone, but by revelation. They are not fortune-tellers. They are faithful stewards of God’s mystery.

The Wise, the Virgins, and the Church of Philadelphia

The maskilim are not a new people—they are the wise virgins of Matthew 25. They keep oil in their lamps. They watch through the night. They do not slumber. They are the Church of Philadelphia—those who have kept His Word and have not denied His Name. To them is given the open door that no man can shut. They are told:

“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world…” (Revelation 3:10)

They are roused by love, driven by longing, and sober in their watchfulness. They speak not to gain followers, but to awaken the Bride.

Understanding at a Cost

After the rapture, the 144,000 will awaken with clarity. They will understand. They—and others those killed for refusing to worship the beast and its image and for refusing to take its mark—they will rise in boldness and pay for truth of their testimony with their blood. These martyrs will love not their lives unto death. Understanding will cost them everything, but their reward will be eternal. They will sing the song of Moses and of the Lamb before God Almighty.

“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.”
(Daniel 12:3)

Even now, understanding is costly. To discern the time is to stand against the tide of delusion. To proclaim it is to invite scorn—even from within the household of faith. Many will scoff as Peter said in 2 Peter 3:3-4:

....knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Regardless of the scoffing; and whilst understanding it for many false prophets and teachers have sowed lies and been shown thus to be false– the maskilim are not moved. The truth must be told regardless of reputation. The wise are driven by truth--and thus the fear of God.

Final Admonition: Choose Wisdom, Choose Life

You who read these words—do not wait. Do not scoff. Do not delay.

The day is far spent, and the hour is near. The world races toward judgment, and the Beast sharpens his snares. The system is already forming, and the mark of the Beast is prepared, hidden in plain sight. The little horn has emerged, and still the world sleeps.

But you—be wise.

Fear God. Choose wisdom. Abide in Christ.

For the Lamb who opens the scroll is also the Shepherd who gathers His sheep—and those who are ready shall be caught up to meet Him in the air. Hear the voice of the Son of God:

Watch. Discern. Shine.

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.”
(Revelation 1:3)

With soberness and hope,
A Watchman in the final hour
