The Mystery of the Lord's Return:

The Mystery of the Lord's Return:

The Three Divine timeframes relating to the judgement of nations, establishment of the Kingdom; divine government and cleansing after the Lord's return.

To the Elect of God, scattered yet chosen, watching and waiting in reverent fear,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is faithful and true, whose coming is sure, whose word cannot fail, and whose appointed times reveal His perfect design.

The Great Mystery Now Being Unveiled

Beloved, a mystery long concealed is now being unveiled—hidden in plain sight within the prophetic scriptures, awaiting the generation that would see and understand. It concerns not merely the day of the Lord's return, but the intricate divine plan for the establishment of His kingdom that follows.

The Lord, in His perfect wisdom, has not given us one timeframe but three—each serving a different purpose, each unveiled by a different prophet, each essential to understand the transition from this present age to the glorious Millennial Kingdom. Let us reverently consider these divine timeframes which the wise shall understand (Daniel 12:10).

The Return of the King: The Fulfillment of Yom Kippur

As we have understood, the Second Coming of Christ aligns with Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement, the most solemn feast in the Jewish calendar. On this day, Israel will mourn for the One they have pierced (Zechariah 12:10), and a fountain of cleansing will be opened (Zechariah 13:1). It is the day that Jesus returns not only to judge the nations but to atone nationally for Israel—fulfilling Isaiah’s cry:

“In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His Presence saved them… But they rebelled… So He became their Savior.” (Isaiah 63:9–10)

The feast of Yom Kippur is fulfilled in the great supper of God as described in Revelation 19:17-21;

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and with a loud voice he called to all the birds that fly directly overhead, “Come, gather for the great supper of God,  to eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all men, both free and slave, both small and great.” And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army.  And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had done the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.  And the rest were slain by the sword that came from the mouth of him who was sitting on the horse, and all the birds were gorged with their flesh.

This glorious return ends the 1,260 days of the Antichrist’s reign (Daniel 7:25; Revelation 13:5). But as Daniel was told, more days follow1,290 and 1,335 days—and now, by the Spirit, we understand why.

The Three Divine Subsystems of Kingdom Establishment

When the Lord returns on Yom Kippur at the completion of the 1,260 days of Great Tribulation, His arrival does not instantly transform the world. Instead, Scripture reveals three distinct but harmonious processes that unfold:

1. The Judgment and Mourning Period (30 Days)

Daniel was told: "From the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days" (Daniel 12:11).

This 30-day period following Christ's return serves specific purposes revealed throughout Scripture:

  • The Judgment of the Nations: As the Lord taught in Matthew 25:31-46, "When the Son of Man comes in His glory... He will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats." This worldwide judgment requires time to gather and judge all peoples.
  • The Removal of Evil Powers: Revelation 19:20-20:3 shows a sequence beginning with Christ's return—the Beast and False Prophet are cast into the lake of fire, and Satan is bound for a thousand years. These judgments establish Christ's unopposed rule.
  • Israel's National Mourning: Zechariah 12:10-14 prophesies, "They will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son." This national repentance reflects the traditional 30-day mourning period seen throughout Scripture (Numbers 20:29, Deuteronomy 34:8).
  • Initial Purging: Isaiah 4:4-5 declares, "When the Lord has washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and purged the bloodshed of Jerusalem... then the LORD will create above every dwelling place of Mount Zion... a cloud and smoke by day and the shining of a flaming fire by night." The initial cleansing prepares for God's manifest presence.

This 30-day period is thus a time of separation, judgment, mourning, and initial purification—the immediate aftermath of Christ's glorious return.

2. The Kingdom Preparation Period (45 Days)

Daniel continues with a blessing: "Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days" (Daniel 12:12).

This reveals a 45-day period (from day 1,290 to day 1,335) devoted to establishing the infrastructure of Christ's kingdom:

  • Restoration of David's Tabernacle: Amos 9:11-12 prophesies, "On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages... that they may possess the remnant of Edom and all the Gentiles who are called by My name." The worship system of the Millennial Kingdom must be established.
  • Consecration Processes: Throughout Scripture, consecration periods preceded temple service. Solomon's temple dedication lasted 14 days (1 Kings 8:65). Priests required a seven-day consecration period (Leviticus 8:33-35). Ezekiel's temple has specific consecration requirements (Ezekiel 43:25-27). The Millennial worship system requires proper preparation.
  • Land Redistribution: Ezekiel 47-48 describes an entirely new distribution of the land among the tribes of Israel—an administrative reorganization requiring implementation time.
  • Installation of Millennial Rulers: Revelation 20:4-6 reveals, "I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them." The saints who rule with Christ must be installed in their positions of authority.
  • Regathering of Dispersed Israel: Isaiah 11:11-12 and Ezekiel 36:24 describe a global regathering of Israel that completes during this transition period.

This 45-day period establishes the governmental, territorial, and leadership framework for Christ's millennial rule. At its conclusion (the 1,335th day), a special blessing is pronounced on those who reach this milestone—likely referring to the completed preparation of the Kingdom's administrative and worship infrastructure.

3. The Land Purification Period (Seven Months)

Ezekiel revealed a third critical timeframe: "For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land... They will set apart men regularly employed... to cleanse it" (Ezekiel 39:12,14).

This seven-month period (approximately 210 days) focuses specifically on the ritual purification of the land of Israel:

  • Removal of Death's Defilement: Following the battle of Armageddon and Gog-Magog, the land must be cleansed of death's defilement according to the principles of ritual purity established in the Law of Moses.
  • Preparation for God's Dwelling: Ezekiel 40-48 describes the Millennial Temple in great detail. For God's glory to dwell there, the land must be purified according to the highest standards of holiness.
  • Fulfillment of Purification Laws: The Law established specific purification procedures for land defiled by death. These requirements are not symbolic but essential for God's presence to dwell in the land.

Beginning from Tishri 10 (Yom Kippur) when Christ returns, seven lunar months brings us precisely to Nisan 10—the very day Israel entered the Promised Land under Joshua (Joshua 4:19) and the day Jesus made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem (fulfilling Zechariah 9:9). Now, in divine symmetry, it becomes the day the land is fully cleansed.

Nisan 10: The Day of Entry and Preparation

This mystery deepens.

If the Lord returns on Tishri 10, and seven months pass (210 days), we arrive at Nisan 10—the day Israel crossed the Jordan under Joshua (Joshua 4:19), and the day the Passover lambs were selected (Exodus 12:3).

It is also the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, fulfilling Zechariah 9:9. Now, it becomes the day the land is fully cleansed, the temple is ready, and the first true Passover of the Millennial Kingdom is prepared.

What once was the day of presentation becomes the day of glorified fulfillment. Jesus, the Lamb of God, fully reigns from Jerusalem as God and King. His temple stands--his glory blazes as Ezekiel saw. His people are gathered. And He will eat the Passover anew with us, just as He promised (Luke 22:15–18).

The Glorious Harmony of the Three Timeframes

These three divine subsystems operate both in parallel and in sequence, addressing different aspects of Kingdom establishment:

  • The 30-day period (days 1,260-1,290) addresses the judicial aspects—judgment, removal of evil, and national repentance.
  • The 45-day period (days 1,290-1,335) establishes the governmental and administrative foundation of the Kingdom.
  • The seven-month period (approximately 210 days) ensures ritual purity for God's dwelling.

The first two periods (from Daniel) total 75 days, while Ezekiel's cleansing period spans approximately 210 days. They are not contradictory but complementary, focusing on different aspects of the transition to the Millennial Kingdom. The judicial and governmental aspects are established more quickly, while the complete purification of the land requires the full seven-month period.

The First Passover of the Kingdom Age

The culmination of these periods—particularly the seven-month cleansing—leads to a moment of extraordinary significance: the first Passover of the Millennial Kingdom.

With the land fully cleansed by Nisan 10, the way is prepared for the celebration of Passover on Nisan 14. Consider the divine symmetry:

  • At the first Passover, Israel was delivered from Egypt
  • At the Passover of Christ's ministry, He was crucified as the ultimate Passover Lamb
  • At the first Millennial Passover, Christ presides not as the sacrifice but as the reigning King

Jesus Himself anticipated this moment when He said at the Last Supper: "I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father's kingdom" (Matthew 26:29).

The first Millennial Passover thus becomes not a memorial of death but a celebration of life, not a shadow but the substance, not a longing but a fulfillment.

The Precision of God's Appointed Times

Behold the mathematical precision of God's plan:

  1. Christ returns on Yom Kippur (Tishri 10)
  2. Thirty days of judgment and mourning follow (days 1,260-1,290)
  3. Forty-five days of kingdom establishment follow (days 1,290-1,335)
  4. The seven-month land cleansing (approximately 210 days) concludes on Nisan 10; the Messianic Temple is ready
  5. The first Millennial Passover is celebrated on Nisan 14

This is not coincidence but divine choreography. The feasts of the Lord are not only remembrances of the past—they are appointments with destiny. God fulfilled the Spring Feasts in Christ's first coming with precise timing: crucified on Passover, buried during Unleavened Bread, raised on Firstfruits, and sending His Spirit on Pentecost. He will fulfill the Fall Feasts with the same precision in Christ's return: the Rapture on Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah), the Return on Atonement (Yom Kippur), and the Kingdom established on Tabernacles (Sukkot).

Exhortation to the Saints

Do you see, beloved, how precise our God is? Do you see how not one word of prophecy fails? Do you see how the wise—those who watch, love His appearing, and tremble at His Word—are being given understanding that generations before longed to see?

The harmonization of Daniel's timeframes with Ezekiel's cleansing period reveals a God of perfect order, ensuring that every aspect of His kingdom—judicial, governmental, and ceremonial—is properly established.

Let us then live as those who understand these things:

  1. Let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement, since a day of cleansing is coming for the Lord's dwelling place.
  2. Let us prepare for the true Passover—not only by remembering the Lamb who died, but by awaiting the King who reigns.
  3. Let us hold fast the word of prophecy as a light in a dark place, testing all things, and holding fast what is good.
  4. Let us be found among those who reach the blessing of the 1,335th day—not merely surviving but participating in the establishment of the Lord's kingdom.
  5. Let us say with heartfelt longing, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!"

The convergence of prophetic signs indicates we approach the fulfillment of all these things. The horsemen ride. The little horn arises. Israel blooms as the fig tree. The generation that will not pass away advances in years. The appointed time draws near.

To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever.

Even so, Come, Lord Jesus!

With reverent awe and prophetic urgency,

A Watchman in the Final Hour

Post Script:

The Government Upon His Shoulders: Kingdom Authority Established

Isaiah prophesied, "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder" (Isaiah 9:6). This declaration, spoken centuries before Christ's first coming, finds its complete fulfillment not at His birth in Bethlehem, nor even at His resurrection, but during the 45-day kingdom establishment period following His glorious return.

This government upon His shoulders is not merely symbolic but manifests in a comprehensive authority structure that incorporates both heaven and earth. While Christ possesses all authority in heaven and earth, He has chosen, in divine wisdom, to establish His government through the delegation of authority to His faithful saints—a delegation that occurs during this critical 45-day period.

The Royal Appointments of the King of Kings

The Lord Jesus, in His earthly ministry, repeatedly spoke of authority He would grant to His followers:

"You are those who have continued with Me in My trials. And I bestow upon you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one upon Me, that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel" (Luke 22:28-30).

"Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities" (Luke 19:17).

These were not simply motivational metaphors but prophecies of actual governmental appointments that will be fulfilled during the 45-day period. As the governmental structure of the Millennial Kingdom is established, the twelve apostles receive authority over the restored twelve tribes of Israel—a governance structure based on the divine pattern revealed to Moses at Sinai, but now perfected under the New Covenant.

Beyond the apostles, faithful saints receive authority over territories, cities, and regions according to their proven faithfulness in this present age. Some receive ten cities, others five, in precise fulfillment of the Lord's parable of the minas. The resurrected and transformed saints, now bearing the image of the heavenly Man (1 Corinthians 15:49), take their appointed places within this divine administration.

A Government Beyond Earth's Boundaries

The scope of this government upon His shoulders extends beyond earthly territories. As the apostle Paul revealed, "Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels?" (1 Corinthians 6:2-3).

During this 45-day period, authority over angelic realms is likewise established. The fallen angelic powers, having been defeated at the cross and now fully displaced by Christ's return, are replaced by a new order where glorified saints assume positions of authority over the angelic hosts. This explains the full significance of the thrones described in Revelation 20:4: "And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them."

These thrones represent both earthly and heavenly jurisdiction, as the government upon Christ's shoulders extends to every realm. The long war between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent reaches its administrative conclusion as saints assume the positions of authority once held by "principalities and powers" (Ephesians 6:12).

The Restoration of Creation's Hierarchy

This establishment of kingdom authority serves a greater purpose: the restoration of creation's intended hierarchy. In the beginning, man was given dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:28). Through sin, this dominion was compromised, and fallen angels usurped authority not rightfully theirs. The 45-day period witnesses the final reversal of this cosmic disorder.

As Paul declared, "The earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God" (Romans 8:19). Creation itself awaits this administrative restoration. The installation of the saints into their governing roles during these 45 days fulfills creation's long expectation, as those conformed to the image of Christ assume their rightful authority over the created order.

This restoration explains why the blessing pronounced at the 1,335th day (Daniel 12:12) carries such significance. It marks the completion of heaven's administrative transition—the government fully established upon the shoulders of the Messiah and extending through His glorified Body, the Church. At this point, with both the land cleansed and the government established, all elements are in place for the thousand-year reign to proceed in perfect order.

The Divine Council Fulfilled

When the Ancient of Days takes His seat and the books are opened (Daniel 7:9-10):

As I looked,
thrones were placed,
    and the Ancient of Days took his seat;
his clothing was white as snow,
    and the hair of his head like pure wool;
his throne was fiery flames;
    its wheels were burning fire.
10 A stream of fire issued
    and came out from before him;
a thousand thousands served him,
    and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him;
the court sat in judgment,
    and the books were opened.

He does not rule alone. The Son of Man receives the kingdom (Daniel 7:13-14), and then—as Daniel witnessed—"the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom" (Daniel 7:18). This reception of the kingdom by the saints occurs precisely during the 45-day establishment period.

From Mystery to Manifestation

The mystery of the Church—that in Christ, believing Jews and Gentiles would form one new body—finds its ultimate purpose revealed during this period. The Church was not merely saved for heaven but prepared to rule. Paul's statement that we are "heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ" (Romans 8:17) reaches its administrative fulfillment as the inheritance is formally distributed.

For this reason, the 45-day period involves not just delegation of authority but instruction in its proper exercise. Just as the resurrected Christ spent forty days teaching the apostles about the kingdom before ascending to heaven (Acts 1:3), so these 45 days involve kingdom instruction that prepares the saints for their millennium-long governance roles.

This is why the Lord taught that the faithful servant would be "made ruler over all that he has" (Luke 12:44). The authority promised throughout Scripture is formally conferred during these pivotal 45 days, when the government promised to rest upon the Messiah's shoulders extends through His Body to establish divine order throughout creation.
